Sunday Nov the 2 1890
Dear children,
I will try this Morning
to write you a few lines in answer to
yours I retrieved afew days ago. I was
very glad to hear from you and that you
was up and about. I got a letter fom
Julia three or four weeks ago. she told
me that you had a baby and was doing very
well. you have given him a very pretty
name and I think I will see him soon
Celenia. I would have come long ago if I
had got a way to come with out walking.
as to telling you what day I will come it
is out of my power. I may come any day it
aint raining. dont you think for a minuet
that I have throwed you a way or that I
dont want to see you I, do and that bad.
and if I live I will see you Celenia. you
dont know the tears I hav shed about you
so dont think hard of Mother. Mother
Loves you as good as any of the children
but I am old and have a bad chance. no
one to keep house that I can trust. Mr J
Bridges was hear yesterday he sayes Cal
Horne is very porley. he said he thought
Cal was loosing his mind. he has set
several dayes to die he has turned to our
baptist again. he says God showed him
that the Mishionary baptist was write. I
dont feel very well this morning. the
rest is well except tad colds. I hope
this will find you all well Celenia. I
think you and Frank could get a place
between there and heare and come closter
and not go farther. moove down closter
hear. I could go to to Morrow with Mr J
Bridges but I haint got to come to see
you first and dont expect to go for I
know you would be mad. I want to come to
see you first [p.1]
Celelia, I send you a
chew of tobacco. kiss the little ones
that I havent seen for Mother. Old aunt
Peggy Carswell died today two weeks ago.
all so Mrs Hufmar last Sunday. Mrs Sally
Chapman died. Idah said tell you she
wanted to see you and that they tried all
fall to get a horse to come and didant
get none and now she couldent come soon.
you can guess why if you cant come. why
dont Frank come. I know he can come if he
will and I think he aught to come. your
pa is gone to preaching. me and Otas is
by ourselves. ee have had very cold
weather the last week. why dont Frank
write? I tried to get to come to day but
couldent get no horse and I dont want to
come in an ox waggon if there is any
ether chance. Jim Denton said he would
take his ox and waggon and take me up
there but I dont want to come that way
and horses is scarse a bout hear and
Sydneys aint safe for me to ride I want
to come to sea you and go to Cleavland
too before Christmas. if the train past
clost to you I would be at your house
before tomorrow Night. if brother Thomas
is up yet tell him to come by and stay
all night with us if he will I will go
and stay all Night with him when Sydney
goes to Statesville. I will close hoping
to see you in a few dayes. write soon.
come as soon as can. I hav talked to you
all day and I havent heard a word you
have said.
